Easter Crayon Recycling Tutorial To Do With Kids
Easter Crayon Recycling Tutorial To Do With Kids
Crayon recycling is something I loved to do as an Early years teacher. The classroom always ended up with small stubs of crayons and rather than throw them away, the teachers would recycle crayons into new and interesting multicoloured shapes.
Easter is an amazing time and a great opportunity to have fun with kids and get them learning. No matter what time of the year it is, you can recycle old crayons and have a fun recycle crayons activity with the kids.
Today I am sharing this fun and colourful crayon recycling tutorial for making recycled crayons for Easter with the kids.

Recycle Crayons Activity
I’ve alway been a fan of the quote, “Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without”. It’s one of my favourite quotes and today, we are recycling and reusing old crayons to create something new.
It’s a fab idea and something the kids will love to make and enjoy to use after.
You can make this with any shape mould but as it’s an Easter themed post we are making Easter Bunny Crayons on the blog today.
What You Need To Recycle Old Crayons
In order to recycle old crayons you will need to gather the old and broken crayons you find around the home.
You also need a mold which could be any shape.
As it’s Easter we will be using an Easter Bunny Candy Mold. There are so many different molds to choose from.
How To Recycle Crayons
Here is the tutorial on how to recycle broken crayons.
Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
Peel the paper off the crayons and make sure they are broken into very small pieces.
Fill each bunny mould with different colours, or your own colour choices.
Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes or completely melted.
Remove from oven and let cool completely and pop out of molds.
Once the crayons are ready it’s time to color and have some fun.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. It’s easy simple and a great way to be frugal, recycle and not waste.
