What Is A Wild Boar?

A wild boar is a pig that has not been domesticated. Wild boars are often hunted for their meat, which is known as pork. However, wild boars can also be dangerous animals, and they are sometimes considered pests.

The average wild boar weighs between 250 and 350 pounds, but some have been known to reach weights of over 600 pounds. The biggest recorded wild boar was killed in 1914, weighing in at a whopping 880 pounds!

A baby wild boar is called a piglet. A newborn piglet weighs about 2 pounds and is about 8 inches long. Piglets are born with their eyes open and can walk within a few hours of being born. They are fully grown by the time they are one year old.

Wild boars are omnivorous, meaning they eat both plants and animals. Their diet consists of acorns, nuts, berries, roots, grasses, insects, small mammals, and reptiles. In some areas, they have been known to raid crops such as corn and wheat.
