making paper crafts with kids

Crafting with children is not only fun, it’s a great way to bond and develop relationships. You can talk about what you are doing, discuss characters and come up with ideas as you create your masterpiece.

In fact, you can spark your child’s imagination by discussing how loyal Max is to the Grinch and talking about dogs and pets. You can come up with some fun names for dogs and create a list of pet names.

You may also want to make lots of other pets or crafts with the kids. We have a whole heap of free printables here on Craft Play Learn and a fun section on animal crafts. Enjoy.

HOW TO MAKE THIS dog paper CRAFT from the grinch

Begin by downloading the printable document below. Be sure to print out the pages on the correct colors. Or you can print out on white paper and add coloring in to make the activity last longer.

Once you have printed out the Max template pieces, use the scissors to cut out the template.

Assemble the Max character and glue the template pieces together. Glue the long ears to the dogs head and the yellow dots to the paper dog collar.

Once complete you can use this fun craft to make a display. For older kids be sure to give them the prompt page and have them write to help extend their interest in the activity whilst writing.

You can make this fun activity into a writing activity using the writing prompt in the template.
